Overview :

      The Human Lineage by Matt Cartmill and Fred H. Smith, was published by Wiley in Spring 2009. It received overwhelmingly favorable reviews, and rapidly rose to become the standard textbook treatment of the fossil record of human evolution. In the succeeding five years, many crucial new findings and analyses have rendered parts of the book obsolete. In order to keep pace with scientific discoveries and to maintain the competitive market position of The Human Lineage, a second edition is needed. Cartmill and Smith will undertake a thorough revision of the book, adding new, updated text and illustrations and pruning and revising the existing material.
